Meet Our Team

Michael J. Houlehan is the founder and president of AspenAid, Inc, a Colorado nonprofit corporation. He’s a multinational, multicultural private equity investor and consultant grounded in corporate finance. His many years in Poland and Central Europe made the unprovoked Russian invasion and aggression of Ukraine a matter that struck him personally. That, and the remarkable response of the citizens of both Ukraine and Poland, led to his founding AspenAid to support humanitarian and resistance efforts in both countries. He brings years of experience and resources developed from living and working in Europe, Asia, Australia, and the US in business, non-profit, and government sectors.

James W. Larson - Director Operations and Logistics., James brings unique regional experience and perspective to AspenAid. He is an experienced leader who learned to thrive in challenging environments during his 20-year active-duty U.S. Coast Guard career. This included extensive in-country military-to-military exchanges with Ukrainian, Polish, Latvian, Estonian, Romanian, Georgian and Lithuanian navies during his time aboard the 270 foot Coast Guard Cutter LEGARE. Since leaving the Coast Guard, James helps organizations navigate tough organizational challenges, changes, and growth. His passion is helping people and organizations discover their best selves.
